Wisdom Teeth Removal Recovery Tips 101

Home | Blog Post | Page 11

Are you about to get your wisdom teeth removed? If so, we can help you! Wisdom teeth removal is a common procedure that many people undertake every day. Removing your wisdom teeth is an essential step in maintaining a healthy smile. Luckily, our [dr_type], Dr. [doctor_name], and [hisher] team are happy to help you with every step of the process, including the recovery process, so you know you are on the right path to a healthy smile.

To help you make the most of your recovery process, here are some tips that our team at [practice_name] has put together:

– Ice packs: Ice packs are beneficial in situations where you are suffering from inflammation and extreme swelling.
– Avoid exercise: Exercising or working out can wear out your body’s energy levels, which would be better used for recovery time.
– Regular checkups: Make sure you stay in touch with our [dr_type] so that you can reach us quickly if any problems arise.
– Eat soft foods: Eating soft foods is important to ensure that your mouth can heal properly. Hard or crunchy foods can irritate the extraction site.
– Follow instructions: After you have a wisdom tooth pulled, you’ll need to listen to our [dr_type] and follow instructions [heshe] may have.
– Sleep: Try to get as much sleep as possible so that your body has ample time to heal.

If you need help with your recovery, or if you have any questions about your wisdom teeth removal in [city], [state], please call us right away at [phone]. Our professional team is happy to help you through the process and address your concerns.

Are you unfamiliar with dry mouth? Not to worry, our team is here to provide important information on this common dental problem by providing the foundational facts:

– Dry mouth can be prevented: You should not have to suffer from dry mouth, and the good news is that simple lifestyle changes can help protect your smile from this condition. Some lifestyle changes to consider are drinking more water during the day, limiting your intake of caffeine, drinking water or drinks free of sugar at mealtimes, chewing sugar-free gum, giving up harmful habits such as smoking and chewing tobacco and setting up a humidifier in your room at night.

– Saliva is a natural ally: Saliva keeps your mouth wet, preventing dry mouth from occurring. The role of saliva in your mouth goes beyond this, though, protecting your teeth from decay and infection, making chewing and swallowing smoother and helping you in digesting food.

– Dry mouth can occur commonly: Every patient experiences dry mouth during their lifetime, such as when they are nervous, stressed or upset. However, if your mouth frequently feels dry out on a regular basis, you may be suffering from dry mouth much like millions of Americans that have condition, even if they don’t realize it.

If left untreated, dry mouth can cause damage to your teeth. If a lot of your day is spend with dry mouth in [city], [state], we encourage you to speak with our dentist by giving [practice_name] a call at [phone] today to schedule an appointment with Dr. [doctor_name].

Many of us learned basic oral hygiene habits as children. Now that we are all grown up, it’s a good idea to review our techniques and make sure we are keeping our smiles healthy! Let’s review some at-home dental care basics.

Brush: Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice per day. Many people choose to brush when they wake up and just before bedtime. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to protect your enamel and gum tissues from damage, and don’t brush too hard. Think more “massage” than “scrub.” Brushing with a stiff brush or harsh pressure can do significant damage to your enamel and gum tissues.

Floss: Floss your teeth for two to three minutes every day. Floss (or other interdental cleaners) clean the places that your toothbrush cannot reach–in between teeth and behind back molars, for example. Interdental cleaning can come before or after brushing, as long as you do both consistently.

Mouthwash: Some people choose to include mouthwash (also referred to as mouthrinse) in their daily hygiene routine. If you choose to do this, use a therapeutic mouthwash–that is, mouthwash that is designed to kill bacteria, rather than simply masking halitosis.
